August 10, 6:30 p.m. "Knife Basics," Adult Hands-On Class. 240 Route 17 North ( Paramus Towne Square), Paramus. $50 per registrant (18 years and older).

Chef Central's adult knife skills class, presented by J.A. Henckels International, is a comprehensive, two-hour, hands-on class divided into two parts. Half the class is devoted to teaching students about the care and maintenance of knives, while the other half takes students into the demo kitchen to practice proper holding and cutting techniques.
