Accelerated Nursing Programs Are Slashing Years Off Your Nursing ...
Accelerated nursing programs are the perfect option for nursing students who wish to complete their nursing degree within the minimum time possible. With accelerated BSN program, students can earn their BSN within a year, allowing them to enter the field much faster.
The current global shortage in qualified nurses means that you are sure to win a position of your choice as soon as you graduate. Along with the intense job satisfaction, high level of remuneration and fantastic career growth opportunities, nursing graduates are currently able to choose their postings unlike those in most other professions. Nursing is in fact a fantastic job for those who wish to travel since this is one profession that is always in demand wherever you go.
How Accelerated Nursing Programs Work
There is any number of accredited nursing schools offering fast nursing degree and interested candidates can choose from hundreds of different fast track nursing degree. Accelerated nursing degrees allow students to complete their training within the shortest possible time without compromising on the quality of education in any way.
Most one year accelerated BSN program require a candidate to possess at least a bachelor's degrees. However, others may also apply for such a program though, in their case, the training will last a bit longer (up to two or more years) since the amount of information to be absorbed is that much more.
Depending on the kind of program you choose, possible curriculum subjects include anatomy, biology, physiology, pharmacology and even training in effective communication and hospital administration (for those interested in the management side of nursing).
Once you have earned your BSN degree, you can choose to either start work immediately or go on to higher studies and research with the help of similarly accelerated post-graduate or doctoral programs.
What You Can Expect From an Accelerated BSN Program
Be warned however, that any accelerated nursing degree will be a definite challenge and will require students to put in a grueling schedule of intense learning and work experience. Unlike traditional nursing degree, most accelerated nursing programs are completed in less than 15 months and naturally involve a kind of speeding up of the entire training experience.
There is little time out between semesters or learning sessions and the amount of classroom hours candidates are expected to put in is much more when compared to ordinary programs. The curriculum will also be somewhat condensed when compared to a traditional nursing degree, though not enough to leave graduates in any way compromised with regard to the knowledge and skills they possess.
