These pairings are completely counterculture to “staying between the lines.” Nevertheless, give it a try and I think that you will be pleasantly surprised by the results. Have the “Red, Red Wine” song from UB40 stuck in your head yet? Good.
He was followed by headliner Ali Campbell, who sang many of his UB40 classic hits, including Red Red Wine and Can't Help Falling in Love With You, which went down a storm. A spectacular firework display rounded off both shows.
UB40's Ali Campbell kept Festival-goers “groovin'” with his hits such as “Kingston Town” and “Red, Red Wine.” Finally, the wrap up of the evening came with Small Axe Band and Nu Vybes Band International. It's no surprise some of the festival-goers had
Occasional wrong turns appear: a "reggae" version of "Red, Red, Wine" that makes UB40 sound like The Wailers, while a grating, slowed-down "I'm A Believer" from Dreams is rapidly curtailed in favour of a more upbeat take, giving the current Monkees a

Gee, last time I looked, everyone had the right to like whatever music they wanted to like, regardless of skin color. And for the negative people who were complaining about a white man doing Marley’s song, please remember that Marley was all about “One Love”. Talk about contradictions. You hold up Marley as an example, when all HE wanted was for people to live together peaceably, colorblind.
I find this argument ridiculous. Comparing UB40 to present day acts such as Alborosie and Gentleman is just plain dumb. Reggae at that time had the same make up and easy going flow. Alton Ellis for example had the same style and even Gregory Issacs. UB40 played a role in Reggae music. Was it as big as Bob Marley? NO!! stop trying to put them in a box. Anybody who brings up skin color as a factor is an even bigger idiot. Bob Marley was half white.
